Horses at Chris Kappler, Inc. receive educated and detailed care to ensure that each is happy, healthy, and performing to the best of his abilities. Our exceptional team of Katie Martin, Val Huckstep and Luis Hernandez have over 40 years of experience combined. Grooms care for a limited number of horses so they can devote the proper amount of time each day to gain intimate knowledge of each horse and ensure all his needs are being met. We have a strong team of vets and farriers who routinely visit the farm to monitor the health and soundness of all the horses.

Consistent work contributes not only to the training of the horses, but also to their fitness and soundness. In addition to Chris, there are experienced riders on staff to exercise horses when their owners are not able to come to the barn. The training program is carefully planned so that each horse is properly conditioned for every show.

Besides showing respect for horses, trainers, and shows, careful attention to turnout of the horse and rider is an important safety measure. Keeping tack in good condition, requiring that safe and appropriate equipment is used and emphasizing the health of the horse are all key elements of meticulous turnout. In addition, proper turnout helps the rider feel focused and prepared every time they enter the show ring.
